FREEmium Wordpress Theme 1.0 RELEASED!

FREEmium Wordpress Theme 1.0 RELEASED!

There are hundreds of premium wordpress themes on the web waiting to be paid for. Some of them are worth it, some are not. FREEmium wordpress theme is definitely worth paying for. But guess what! We’re giving it away for free. How sweet is that?

FREEmium theme was designed by Paul Kadysz and developed by Dariusz Siedlecki. Both guys did excellent job. And thanks to freebiesdock.com you can download the theme for free! But enough talking…

Let’s see how the theme looks like

FREEmium Wordpress Theme - home page

FREEmium Wordpress Theme - home page

We wanted it to be as customizable as possible. We worked really hard to make it work and look good on most of popular browsers. We’re not sure if we managed to achieve that. It should look good on Safari, FF 3.0x, Opera. Not sure about IE6 - but you can never be sure about this one. More features are listed below.

  • XHTML 1.0 Transitional
  • jQuery menu
  • quick submitting to web2.0 websites support
  • flickrRSS plugin support
  • threaded comments support
  • feedBurner subscribe via email support
  • a lot of advertising spots (125×125, 120×600, 300×250)
  • 2 widget ready sidebars
  • free for commercial & non-commercial use

How to put title photos in my blog posts?

To display photos in posts on the main page, you have to add a custom field with the name of “image” and input a full URL to it as a value. Image should be 350×200px. Take a look at the image below to get the idea.

I appreciate the theme, found it to be very solid, especially for a free theme.

Issue: I’ve tried installing a couple different lightbox scripts by linking to the necessary JavaScript files in the header, and I can’t get them to work. I’m assuming it’s a conflict with the existing jQuery used in the header…. any ideas about this? One support forum said I’d need to access the body onload function and add a function to that to make it work.

    Any help would be appreciated.
